In addition to being one of the most important areas in modern time in the norwegian history, Oscarsborg is a beautiful oasis, situated in Drøbaksundet, only five minutes to go by the ferry.

There are a lot of exciting acitivities going on at Oscarsborg. Guiding and tours is highly focused, but Oscarsborg today is also a place for recreation and cultural experiences, sun bathing, swimming, and a good, relaxing life.

We take great pleasure in announcing our new offer, which will take place on the following dates:

August 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 23rd, 24th and 25th.

No preorder necessary. You buy your ticket in the kiosk on the square in front of the large, white house on Southern Kaholmen.


Adults: 100,-
Children under 12 years, no charge.

The tour lasts for two hours and gives access to the Torpedo Battery.


WW2 made Oscarsborg widely known. Colonel Birger Eriksen's brave decission to sink "the Blücher", made it possible for the Norwegian king, the government and the Norwegian gold holdings to come into safety.


In addition to get explore the Fortress and the museum, and to ge to know the details in the dramatic events that took place during the war, at Oscarsborg today you may enjoy the beautiful scenery and the calm feeling of recreation. Notice the birds, the flowers, the goats, enjoy the art exhibitions and - if you have the time - maybe even opera.


  • The Fortress museum is interactive. Bring your cellphone and earplugs, log on to the local wifi net and enjoy. Opening hours every day from 9 am to 5 pm, free of charge
